What Are Dabs?

Dabs are highly concentrated cannabis extracts that contain elevated levels of cannabinoids and terpenes compared to traditional flower. Because of their potency, dabs are typically used in very small amounts—just a “dab” at a time.

Concentrates are prized for their purity, strong aroma, and rich terpene profiles, making them a favorite among flavor chasers and experienced consumers alike.

Popular Types of Dabs

Not all dabs are created equal. Each type offers a unique texture, look, and experience. They’re usually classified by their extraction process or physical appearance.

Soft, creamy, and easy to handle. Wax and budder are popular with both beginners and seasoned dabbers thanks to their smooth consistency and balanced effects.

Beeginners Mistakes

  • Dabbing too hot

You will come across a number of people who take “Hot dab.” This is when you apply your dab to your nail or banger before it has cooled enough and is still red hot. Many do this in order to not “waste” product but it is not necessary at the extent that most us users go.

REMEMBER- A glowing hot quartz, banger or nail can be as hot as 800 to 1000°F! This is considered instant lung scorch zone! The sweet spot is considered between 450 and 550°F while some cannasuirs take their dabs as low as 400°F to preserve maximum terpenes and provide the smoothest hit possible. It’s better to lose a small percent of your product and enjoy the experience rather than to cause long-term damage and not reap the full benefits.

  • Using too much

There are lots of people out there that think that the bigger The dab that they throw in their banger, the higher they will get. This is not necessarily true for several reasons that we get into on our ” What’s The Perfect Dab” Blog coming soon. Overloading can cause problems such as “Neck Clogging” of the glass and sometimes your banger cools faster than the dab can be vaporized diminishing returns. This may cause a “puddle” at the bottom of your banger, which you can either reheat or clean with a Q-tip.

Budtender Tip

If you’re new to dabs, start low and go slow. Concentrates are potent, and a little goes a long way. Don’t hesitate to ask a budtender about terpene profiles, textures, or recommended consumption methods.

Final Takeaway

Dabs offer a premium cannabis experience with intense flavor, fast-acting effects, and a wide range of options to suit different preferences. Whether you’re after smooth solventless rosin or terpene-rich live resin, concentrates are a powerful way to elevate your routine.
